Annabel Poate-Joyner is Director and Lead Consultant of APJ Psychological Consulting, a specialist psychological consultancy working both nationally and internationally.
Annabel has over 27 years of post-qualification professional experience in Mental Health, Learning Disability, Vulnerable Persons, and Occupational Health, working with individuals, teams, services, and organisations such as the NHS, Local Authorities and social services departments, CQC, Police forces, CPS, MOD and INTERPOL, the civil and criminal justice system, and the health and social care sector.
Annabel is an Expert and Special Advisor on the National Crime Agency/College of Policing database. She works closely with police forces and the CPS assisting with investigations and prosecutions for many complex and serious cases including sexual offences, domestic abuse including controlling and coercive behaviour, and murder.
Since 1998, Annabel has provided Expert Witness opinion and testimony in the Family, Civil and Criminal Courts, and in Best Interests and Mental Capacity cases in the High Court and the Court of Protection.
